Original design for the cover of this famous album. Released on the occasion of Popular Image Exhibition at the Washington Gallery of Modern Art, April – June 1963. It includes interviews by Art Director Billy Klüver with the artists in the exhibition such as Roy Lichtenstein, Jim Dine, Andy Warhol, Robert Rauchenberg, Tom Wesselmann, Jasper Johns, Claes Oldenburg and Robert Watt. This Jim Dine design was later replaced – for no apparent reason – by Andy Warhol’s design, his famous “Giant Size $ 1.57 Each”. This makes this signed copy of Jim Dine extra unique!!
